The Whiskey Wash recently caught up with proprietors Corky and Carson Taylor to learn more about this program. Kentucky Peerless Distilling $1,000 Bourbon Coming Soon
Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company in Louisville, Kentucky, announced last week the roll out of the Series 1 program, known more commonly as the Kentucky Peerless Distilling $1,000 Bourbon. The latter is a bit of a misnomer- it’s $1,000 to buy into a five-year program that affords participants the opportunity to taste the aging process of Kentucky Peerless Bourbon before it officially hits the shelves. There are 300 spots available for this program currently, and more may be added if demand is high enough.
The Whiskey Wash (TWW): Clearly people are clamoring for a non-moonshine whiskey offering from Kentucky Peerless. Is that the main reason for this offering?
Corky Taylor: Bourbon has been part of our family since the 1800’s. When we decided to re-open the distillery, it was extremely important to us that we made our own product using the highest quality ingredients just like my great-grandfather, Henry Kraver, did when he started Kentucky Peerless. To craft a high quality bourbon, you must have patience to allow it to fully mature during the aging process.
We created SERIES I to engage our customers now and give them an opportunity to be a part of this journey. This is the first time that Peerless will be in a bottle in 98 years. This unique collector’s piece shows the progression from new make to a five-year-old bourbon, and illustrates the revival of our family legacy from the 19th to the 21st century.
